Ying Yan's Gallery (b.2004)

"Ng Ying Yan is a 22-year-old living with Cerebral Palsy – Quadriplegia, a condition that affects the movement and coordination of all four limbs. Despite the physical challenges she experiences in using her hands and legs, Ying Yan has discovered her own unique way of expressing using head pointer in communication and doing art.

At FriendenArt, painting has become one of Ying Yan’s favourite hobbies and serves as a form of art therapy, giving her an opportunity to explore her creativity and communicate thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to express through words. Ying Yan may tells her own story, her paintings are more than images — they are expressions of her imagination, emotions, ideas and perspective of the world around her. It build up the self satisfaction, indirectly increase her self confidence."
