Cody has a very honest and impulsive  way of painting. While he was shown how to draw leaves, he quickly chose to do things his own way. His bright colors are a perfect match for his lively and cheerful personality.

Cody and his mum are always together, exploring new places and trying new foods and experiences. He drew these two turtles because he has them as pets at home. The rainbow colors represent a mother’s hope that Cody will one day be independent and ready for the big world and survive without mummy.

To have some fun and think creatively, Cody was asked to draw an imaginary friend. He created "Ody," who has eight hands and four legs. Just like Cody, Ody is very fast and can do many things at the same time.

Sometimes Cody has a hard time sitting still when something is bothering him. We encouraged him to put his feelings onto the paper to help him stay calm. Through this painting, we learned he was upset because he wanted to join his mum and dad during his lesson.

This project required a lot of concentration, which can be difficult for Cody. We are so proud of him for sitting through the whole lesson. It was the first time he used tiny dots to create shadows and colorful details.

We used mushroom sponges for this exercise so Cody could move around while he worked. It was a great way to help him focus while having fun. He really enjoyed seeing how beautiful gold and red look when they are put together.

Some children may not be able to say how they feel, but thru art they can. Every tear that falls is not weakness, but a quiet way of saying "I need to be understood". Sometimes the world is too loud, too fast, too overwhelming for them.

It is clear that gold is a very special color for Cody. He finds so much joy in mixing it with other shades to see how the colors change and what new effects he can create. His fascination with this bright, shimmering color adds a unique touch to his artwork.
