Marilyn was challenged to choose just four colors for this piece.  It took a lot of focus and patience for her to use the mushroom sponge over and over again to finish the work.  While it was hard for her to stay settled at first, she kept going, sharing her wild and imaginative stories the whole time.

Marilyn picked and arranged these colors exactly how she wanted them. Through this piece, she learned that she can create her own world.  She was so happy to discover that in art, she doesn’t have to follow the strict rules she was used to.

After seeing Cory's work, Marilyn wanted to try making her own "magic" art.  Cory was so happy she liked it and gladly shared his process with her. It was a beautiful moment of connection and friendship formed without needing many words.

This Is Nice

Marilyn explored abstract art alongside Branden.  She painted freely with acrylics, building up layers of color before adding her own unique markings.  When she finished, she looked at her work and simply said, "This is nice"—which is exactly what she chose for the title.

Marilyn used a marker pen to confidently draw the things she loves most.  Without any prompts or corrections, she simply let her hand move and her stories flow, showing us her world exactly as she sees it.

Marilyn drew this piece together with Aqeela.  During the session, they talked about how they both like K-pop and Demon Slayer.  Even though they had a small disagreement while working, they managed to sort it out. Through their art, they learned about forgiveness and became friends again.
